Hi,
I'm experimenting with some single fired porcelain
clay bodies. Does anyone have a good single fired
(either bone dry or leather hard glaze state)
porcelain clay body? I mainly use shinos and still
looking for a good oribe green and tenmoku. Thank
you.

I've been single firing MCS from Tucker's Pottery Supplies, Inc. in Ontario,
Canada. I fire to Cone 6 but I they have Cone 10 Porcelain 10-86, 10-85,
10-80, H.H.P and Cone 8 CSP and Porc 5. The Cone 6 Porcelains are MCS, Mid
Porc 5, and 6-50.
Good Luck.

Tony,
I've used this one successfully for years with small
to large pots:
#6 Tile - 50
Kaopaque 20- 25
F-4 spar - 40
Neph Sy - 20
Flint 200 - 20
Molocite - 5
Bentonite - 5
Also a variation with
Kaopaque 20 - 10
Tenn #1 - 15
I've also used Standard Ceramics Porcelain 130 with
good results. You can use Kyanite in place of the
Molocite, though it's not as white.
Molocite is a white grog, made from porcelain.
Enjoy!

from archie bray. he sez bray just started making it and it didn't have a
name when he bought it. it has a lovely color (unglazed) in the soda kiln.
