Hello,
I am leading a trip to Japan for the Washington Potter's Association.
We have a few spaces left and would be happy to have some clayarters
join us. (total estimated cost should be in the $3000.00 range*)
The dates (the schedule and costs are being refined and should be firm
soon) are Leaving August 17 or 18 and returning around September 1.

We will visit:
Tokyo (Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music Museum and
other museums and galleries in Tokyo)
Mashiko (Hamada Museum, Pottery Supply store, galleries, perhaps
studios)
Karatsu (Stoneware tradition)
Arita (porcelain, overglaze enamels Museum and showrooms, possibly
studios)
Imbe (Bizen)
Otani (Tokushima-ken, Shikoku) ( Large pots, private potter's studio,
indigo dye museum, puppet theater are planned stops)
Kyoto (Tenryuji temple, Golden pavilion, Kyomizu and other spots)
returning to Tokyo.
We will be using a two week rail pass traveling by train.
Lots of good food, good pots, good people, and good times.

*Depending on the exchange rate and airfare.

If you are interested in this trip please contact me off the list and I
will send more information.

Thanks,
Rick Mahaffey
