On the topic of the exhasuted teachers we are:
Vince Pitelka once told me how important our work is.
We do not get to see mature work, and that can be a bit frustrating for u=
s at times. However, as one of my students goes on the study landscape ar=
chitecture, and another is at the Musee d'Orsay as we speak, I realize it=
is worth is wading through all the junk to help kids who need that direc=
tion. I would prefer to be making art all day, but I do understand the im=
portant mission---somebody please keep reminding me when that 3rd cup of =
coffee STILL won't wake me up...

When I wrote this hours ago, I did not realize that I did not describe wh=
at "junk" was. Surely, never never kids' art. The junk is the paperwork, =
silly duplications of record-keeping, etc. that makes us all nuts. The ki=
ds never make me nuts, and I still delight in all they make--Sorry I writ=
that fairly obtusely and hope no one ever thought I think any poor thoug=
ht ever of any art by any child (I was told to re-read that sentence and =
it WAS crummy--sorry.)
