This week, my wife and I took our RV to the coast when the temperatures
here went over 100. I know for those in S. Arizona, that qualifies us as
wimps, but it works for us. I had never known of an Open Studio Tour in
the town of Pt. Reyes Station, CA. The town is one of the coastal villages
where the population is only slightly more than the elevation. However, a
group of local artists in the area are having Open Studios on June 30, July
1 this year. The list includes Molly Prier (see her workshops advertised
in Ceramics Monthly). Also included in this list is Marty Knapp, a very,
very good photogrpher (http://www.martyknapp.com/) and Bruce Mitchell who
has been described as a world class wood turner and is represented in some
major collection.

I would never have know about this except that I took a walk, opened my
eyes, walked in to Marty Knapp's studio and started talking. Now, I may
have to go back to the coast again...just to cool off, of course.
