there is no substitute for technical skill and good honest craftmanship and
when a piece comes apart, learn, write it off, and make a better one.
However in a world of primadonas where every idea is an inspiration, every
piece dear, labored and sacred, where we can buy crystaline glazes from a
jar and fixit compounds from suppliers....... when I fall prey to any of the
forgoing, I get out my trusty ITC (really) and glue the damn thing back
together.
ITC has fairly good cold/set adhesion and once fired one needs a hammer to
undo.
These are pieces that are transition pieces or have things going on that I
wish to document and study.
I don't believe that we should cover up and sell work in which structural
integrity have been compromised.
