I suspect this has been discussed before, but unfortunately I couldn't
find it in the archives..the foot of a footed bowl dis-attached itself in
the bisque firing...is there a way to reattach it (elmers glue?, super
glue? ) to the body of the pot, glaze it and fire it? (we fire to cone
10) I'm concerned about the glue stuff causing odd problems in the kiln...
any ideas ?
thanks!!!

There are several commercial "glues" such as "Aztec" mender from Bailey
or Bray Patch from the Bray. I have also mixed up paper clay patch of
toilet paper and your clay body to repair bisque. It works.

Aardvark Clay Supply in Santa Ana, CA
sells a material they call TENAX
that will attach bone dry or bisque parts.
I think it is a mixture of clay, sand and sodium silicate.

Judy,
use the same glaze that you are going to use for the pot, but use it to
attach the foot to the bowl. It will melt during your glaze firing and
attach the foot to the pot. Elmers glue would just burn out and the two
parts of the pot would come apart.Mia in hot ABQ

I have attached bisque to bisque, dry clay to bisque, and dry clay to dry
clay using paper clay slip.....and then re-bisque firing. If you dont know
how to mix the paper clay slip,,email me and ill tell you how.. Really very
simple... Jim in Denton
