glaze weight scale

I am in the market to buy a good weight scale for measuring glaze =
components. I know the triple beam is very popular, but I was =
interested in looking for something different. The most interesting and =
useful alternative scale I have seen used to weigh glaze components was =
a large postal scale from a post office. Seemed to be very accurate and =
easy to use. I need a scale accurate from a few ounces to 20 pounds. =
Does anyone know if there is a good source on the internet for used =
scales. =20
Thanks

Travis,

There is a well run Auction site for laboratory equipment - LABX, certainly including many scales of all sorts. I have used it several times, and Bruce Girrel uses fairly regularly and wrote in to comment on his satisfaction (archives) also. Prices are luck of the draw, but it is a fair system, and your chance of getting a good price seems good to me. One hint: if you are concerned about the business practices, and honesty of the end entity from which you are purchasing there is a lot of
information given, they are ranked, and you will have a chance to provide feedback on him/her good or bad after your purchase. Seemed well run - and just fun. Be aware also that it seems common practice for the bidders to get pretty active in the last minutes that the auction is coming to a close - so try to be online and set up to get your bid in if you are anxious for the item.

The site is: http://www.labx.com

hope that helps..... good luck,
