I'd like to try Korean-style hakeme. I'll be firing a buff body in cone 9
oxidation. Does anyone have a good recipe for hakeme slip?

I assume that I just brush the stuff onto the greenware. Does anyone have
any other tips about making good hakeme?

Bret,

Best tip I can think of is........ make your own brushes. I find it need=
s
to be quite coarse for the best effects. My favorite brush for this is a=

bunch of very rough fibers I picked up at a "craft" store....... probably=

intended for basketry or something....... that I just bound together with=

some string. NO handle....just grab the butt end of the bundle (big
brush). I have also used old straws from a floppy broom. And I've also
just gone outside an grabbed some likely looking dried grassy growth and
bound it together.

You get different effects based on the thickness of the slip. Try from ve=
ry
think to very thin mixes of slip.

"Swiping with confidence" seems to be key . No tentative application.=

The NIKE approach....... just do it.

Hope this is useful.

Best,
