Hello there,

I am a clay sculptor moving to St. Petersburg in August, and I would
appreciate any help that those in the area could offer regarding
resources, including group studios, art centers, galleries, local clay supply
companies,etc.

My home studio will be out of commission for the next year as we settle
into and renovate our new house, so I am perticularly interested in finding
a group studio with access to wood/pit firing, smoke-firing and gas kilns.

Any leads you can toss my way are sincerely appreciated!!

Regards,

Donna Gordon

Donna,
when you get settled in St.Pete, contact Florida Craftsmen, 501 Central Ave,
St. Pete, 727-821-7391. They have lots of info about the area and the state
and can help point you in the right direction.
Best of luck and welcome to Florida!

Donna,

Check out www.floridacraftsmen.net. Also look for St. Petersburg
Clay Co. when you get there. Artist's Junction in Sarasota is also a good
resource.

Welcome to Southwest Florida!
Tom

Hi Donna, Wecome to Florida! Just moved back here 6 mo. ago. I'm about an
hour north of St. Pete. You have in St. Pete the most wonderful pottery
center I've ever seen. It's called the St. Petersburg Clay Co. and they
provide studio space, visiting artist workshops, ceramic supplies including
clay, firing ( all kinds of kilns), and gallery. I've been told that they
are moving to a restored train station nearby. Their phone is (727)821-7391.
The waiting list for studio space is long so I'd contact them now, before
you move. Let me know if you need any other local info. Cher Hoffman

Donna - I live in Tampa. There is a place in St Pete that seems to fit what
you are looking for. HTML is http://www.stpeteclay.com/

Good Luck. Steve Gady
