To end the problem of contaminated killer clay, put on protective gear, =
and add water to your current clay, preferably in someone else's studio. =
Boil the slip/slurry on the stove until it is the right consistency-at =
least one hour then put in tupperware or freezer bags and freeze until =
needed. Alternately, you can "can" the boiled clay in sterlized glass =
pint jars (don't use stoneware crocks, as they could have a crazed glaze =
or leach harmful metals into your clay) and simmer in a hot water bath =
until the lids are sealed. Label carefully and date, and store in a =
cool dark room. Use the clay within 8 hours of opening or refrigerate =
unused portion. Keeps three days. =20
You can also "pickle" clay, replacing the cucumbers in your favorite =
recipe with dry clay, and replacing the amount of vinegar required with =
pee. Never make clay whistles
