Just finished with summer semester of raku using Dal Tile frit #439-
80% & EPK-20% as the base for all of our glazes. Gives good melt and
crackle surface. A word of warning: discovered the boron constituent
of the frit was not completely insoluble. After 4-5 weeks mixed with
water, glaze became very "grainy". Contacted distributor who is aware
of problem. They are working on fix. So mix & store dry or mix small
amounts to use up in couple of weeks.

I have two frits than are "official partly soluble" I test now an add
of 1% TSP if it will not help I will add 2% if this will not help I
will prepare the glaze before each firing
