evenheat kiln model "super xl"

I have an opportunity to purchase an evenheat Super XL for $200.
It approx the same size as an evenheat 2927. -internal deminsions are
29"diameter and 27" deep - approx 10.5 Cubic feet.
The lid is caving in and has a small - 1" - hole in it. There are numerous
cracks in the lid. The previous owner says that a contractor dropped a tool
on it. There are several broken bricks on the sides of the kiln. The
elements are not broken but there is some white powdery stuff that appears
to be corrosion. It has an LT3 sitter. The Temp controls are only "on-off"
switches. The brick is the standard 2 1/2" thick -it does not have the
extra insulation that the deluxe model has. To power the kiln it must be
directly wired.

I already have a Paragon A88b and a Duncan "Teacher" both measuring roughly
17" in diameter x 23" deep. The evenheat appeals to be because of its size.
I want to work larger (scupltures -fired between 06 and 6), but I know
nothing about the evenheat. Not even sure if it heats up.

Could I get your opinions.
Thanks

I'd pass up this "bargain". Evenheat is a good kiln. But this one sounds like
it's been abused.
