lana wilson's red moss glaze

updated sat 4 aug 01

oops! I should have posted the recipe for those who are trying to help me!

Here it is:

Lana Wilson's Red Moss glaze ^06 (her book doesn't specify ox or reduction)

Lithium Carbonate 60
Talc 40

add:
Bentonite 2
Frit P-25 2
Manganese Dioxide 6

Her notes say to apply thickly (up to 1/4") to achieve the red, otherwise
it's black.
*from the book "Ceramics: Shape and Surface" by Lana Wilson

This is NOT a food safe glaze, I'll be using it on a sculpture AND using my
respirator!

Thanks for all the help!

Valice and anyone else: All of Lana's glazes are in
oxidation, or should we say: electric kiln. Gurus in the past have
said an elec. kiln fires "neutral" rather than oxidized. I am only
repeating.
