At the 7th National Pottery & Ceramics Festival 2001 at Hatfield House,
Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England this weekend I was struck by the numbers of
potters who used crazing to decorative effect and those who used crawling
glazes equally effectively.
That's fine on ware that is not to be used for food or drink.
Fortunately none of it was so intended.
I hope some of you from The States and elsewhere were able to visit this
very large national festival and took away the message that pottery and
ceramics in GB is in a healthy state.
The public were also purchasing lots of pots and the children were creating
their first pots on the wheel and by hand-building methods.
