Dear joyce: If you use 3 tons of clay a year you're putting alot of
Clayarters to shame. that ain't bad for an ole broad with a micro wheel. My
aunt made puts till age 94- between my aunt and uncle 12-15,000 per year.
You got lots of pots left in those fingers of yours.
If your lids don't fit and your pots aren't bulbous enough don't go and make
400 teapots. that is the hardest form a potter makes. Make one jar each
morning and make twenty five lids to fit it. You'll learn to make them fit
soon enough.
As for my tone. I apologize if I get testy. I like to think I represent
"the working stiff". A lady came in the shop yesterday told me her new
Mercedes told her the outside temperature was 41 C or 100 something F. Told
me the rich couldn't make any money anymore and that she would only be able
to buy a $40 dollar wedding gift. My heart pumped piss for her.
Intergrity in ones pots is very costly. Integrity can wear a little thin.
When we made knicky knackies we had more money and had fewer good feelings
about our work. that is the price Ron refers to. Yes, it is worth it, but I
will bitch to you all on a daily basis. It is a piss off that I have friends
like Ron and Liz and a bunch of others that are watchdogs in my life. I
partly blame them for the road I have chosen to travel- the gravel one!
We work very hard to make a comfortable living. You'll have to excuse me
sometimes when it's hot, not air conditioned, and my halo slips.
Cheers,
El Tono, Old Pisser, T.C.

Dear Tony,

Well, it sure is nice to be hearin' from you again!

I am mighy glad you are there...or here...here in this Anno Domini 2001 year
of ours, and in what's left of Christendom...

That 'ol gravel-road has not a few shrines along it...without 'em, 'twould
be a lonesome haul.

And as I may have you rightly know, you are one of 'em...just knowing you
are there is a welcome cheer.

So...I tip my hat, and a twinkle eye'd nod of high regard,

Yours sincerely,

Philip
