from electric to gas kiln

I'm new here at posting and look forward to gathering info from the great
minds.

I do have a recent dilema. I can get a large, old elect kiln...about
4"tall, 3 ring, 2' diameter. I want to use 2 rings and the top and bottom
for a small, 1 burner gas kiln....maybe to use for salt if I can't make it
reduce, ripping out the elements and box. Then also use the middle ring for
a small raku that can be lifted from a metal hoist. I guess I could make a
rake bottom from firebrick and a fiber top. I've never operated a gas kiln
but I've watched and am willing to learn. I'm not in an area where I can
find much help, that I know of, and am on my own for the most part. Does
this sound feasible to anyone? I'd hate to put a lot of energy into what
eventually becomes landfill. I'm getting sorta bored with just doing ^6
stoneware functional stuff and want to branch out.

Also, would I be nuts to put this in a 15'x20' semi-enclosed[2 walls 2 open]
wooden boat shed with a 12' ceiling and plenty of ventilation[packed dirt
floor]?

I could be emailed personally at lexxey@home.com if anyone can help ...or
just wants to quietly tell me that this is hare-brained!!!

I have more questions but I think I will space them out....

except one easy one....can someone tell me what I can do to keep my wheel
motor from making radio interference ....I already tried changing the plug
on the radio to 3 different circuits on the electrical system....still roars
when the wheel goes. Can I get something like at Radioshack to stop it?
