Because there were *so* many people interested in the PalmOS kiln
logging software, I've hacked up a preliminary version. It's
downloadable at http://sourceforge.net/projects/kilnvisor . You'll
need WinZip, or another good compression utility, if you use
windows. Unix users, it's a .tar.gz
*** NOTE!! ***
This is emphatically not the final version. It was made over the
course of about 7 hours today, so has a ways to go before it's
pretty. It's been tested, and shouldn't crash anything. All databases
are internal, and it doesn't access anything external, so you're info
should be safe. Of course, you should always back up before loading
rogue software :-)
*************
I could use the help of Palm people, even if you're not going to use
it all the time. Take a look at it and tell me what's good, bad,
ugly. THere are 3 databases that I made up real quick that show
examples. In the Kiln Log Editor, the "Detailed","Notes"," and "Pics"
forms don't work quite right. You can enter them, but they don't
save. Tell me what's useful about layout, functionality, etc.
The first window you see lists buttons for new, kilns and temps. I've
made kilns and temps completely configurable, so you'll want to add
one or two before you log a firing (You'll see how when you get the
databases, hopefully). There's no documentation yet. Email questions
to me. In fact, if you have a question about something, then I
probably haven't designed it to be intuitive enough.
Good luck all. I'll hopefully finish up more of the Palm apps next
week, and start on the desktop programs soon. School starts next week,
however (teaching and attending), so the desktop may take a bit
longer.
Cheers,
-J
