Dear Joyce,

The Auden poem is a very fine poem, isn't it? An other mourning poem I
always reach for in times of loss is one by the American poet Elizabeth
Bishop called "One art" although i always think of it as "The art of losing"
( I think this is the first line) I'm sorry i don't have net access here to
link through to the full poem, but hopefully google or similar would have
it.

As i remember it, there arn't any gender pronouns in the poem which makes it
very universal when read aloud and it always 'works for me' as an
articulation of great grief and loss, especially when spoken as its one of
those that really builds up along the way. Hope this is of help.
