workshop feedback

My take on this subject, haven given workshops and taken them,
and having taught clay for several years, is that for many
people, (no disrespect to Lori intended), it is much easier to
bitch to a friend (those of us on Clayart) than to have gone to
the presenter or to the organizers and given them feedback or
asked for better service when the workshop was happening.
I know "we are all adults", and I also know that it is adults
that can anonymously defame someone. Just because someone posts
to Clayart doesn't mean that I trust their judgement or motives.
If the workshop presenter or the school had a fair chance to
rebut the criticism, it would be different. If I had heard that
workshop participants had taken the responsibilty to ask for
better service and their concerns were never addressed, I would
have a much more sympathetic ear...

Exactly,

I believe that one should always "work through channels" first. You
keep working through channels until you get as high as you can go. Then
depending on the results you might consider other options. Lori, (I
hope I got that right) did not specifically indicate what steps she had
taken at the workshop itself to come to a resolution. To that extend, I
agree with others who suggest that names should not be given.

However, if you have done all the steps, exhausted all the options, and
you still feel that you have been treated unfairly, then I still believe
that this forum is a viable option for discussion.
