Good morning from the Southern Appalachians!

I've been asked to post several used bookstore websites to this list by
friends and acquaintances, as I work in a library, and have had good
luck lately finding used ceramic books at not only half the cover value,
but in excellent shape as well.

http://www.half.com/index.cfm?ad=1781 Half.com is an ebay company, good
for the more popular items, I've had success with getting a good product
from them.

The following are clearinghouses, venues through which other used
bookstores ply their trade:

http://www.abebooks.com/ Our local great used bookstore uses Abe
http://abaa.org/ Antiquarian Books...good for more esoteric, out of
print books
http://www.bookfinder.com/ Bookfinder.com
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/subst/books/misc/bibliofind.html/002-0
927522-0672041 Bibliofind, don't know why the url is so big, now owned
by Amazon
http://www.alibris.com/search/search.cfm Alibris is another good
independent site for finding out of print books and in print used books

I've searched each one for the same book and found variances in price of
ten to twenty bucks per book. Some of the bookstores use several of
these sites and prices vary as to shipping and postage, so shop around!

Disclaimer: this is not a paid ad or endorsement of this sites, there
are probably many other good ones, but in the last several years of
looking for good quality used books, these are the ones I use.

For one-stop shopping try ADDALL.com it is a mega search engine that
searches many if not all of those listed below. I have mixed feelings
about sharing this with you guys because then all the ceramics books
disappear when I want them.

Your don't need all those numbers as part of the Amazon URL. I think they're
added as part of Amazon's session tracking system. The URL
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/subst/books/misc/bibliofind.html
works just fine (though it's still kind of long!

"Mungo",

Thanks for sending the links.

http://www.addall.com combines a lot of book search engines, new and
used and lets you compare prices.

I haven't ordered anything through this but I've used it to compare
prices, etc. I've found at least one example of almost every rare, out
of print book mentioned on Clayart with this.
