ferro frits 757 and 755

updated fri 31 aug 01

Ferro in South Africa do not release the formulae of their frits.
Nos 757 and 755 are supposedly the closest things to Ferro 3134 and 3123 =
respectively.

Does anyone know the formulae for 757 and 755?

If so, please please share it!

This approach is outragous, anf I took this matter up on several occasions
with FERRO (South Africa). They won't disclose anything! I undertook to
sign a document to undertake not to disclose the formulas, and if I do, I
would be liable for a claim for damages (which can be substantial). They
still refused. I have the knowledge and the equipment to make my own frits
if I wanted to, but I simply do not have the time to do it, neither do I
want to. But when you have no other choice in selecting a fiit, what can
you do? We do not live in developed countries where you have a range to
choose from.

I realize this is not going to be very helpful to Joan - but I would like
to warn anyone that using materials that you can't get the analysis for
puts you at a serious disadvantage. It's a silly game - supposedly to
prevent the competition from duplicating their frits. How silly - all
someone has to do is have a frit analysed and duplicate it.

It may be possible to lean on them a bit - there is a way - you sign a non
disclosure agreement. Trouble is most of us use so little they couldn't
care less.

I will not use frits I can't get the analysis for - period.

Tell em you are thinking of using 10 skids a year - you may find they will
be more co-operative.
