Kathleen,
I know you were asking for places to visit in
Montreal. But, while you're in NYC, there are usually
exhibits at the Greenwich Pottery House on Jones St.
in the Village.

They have a website www.greenwichpottery.org.
This used to be a fully functioning site - but as I check
it just before I send out this mail, I see that it has
been re-designed and "under construction."

Their phone number is 212 242 4106.

I hope you like Picasso, because if you don't (I don't)
you're not going to like the exhibit in Montreal (I didn't).

Katheleen:

There are four or five great ceramic spots in Montreal. First is Manu Rava.
It is a small boutique on20 rue. Fairmont, just west of St-Laurent. Forty
potters showing. Then there is Gaia. Located 1590 rue. Laurier near
Papineau. 30 or so potters and ceramists showing.
If you are down town in Old Montreal there is the Bonsecours Market
(boutique of the Metier des arts.), 20 or so potters showing.
and just next door is l'Empreinte. (meaning the fingerprint). at 272 rue
St-Paul. Five potters showing.
Final. Farfelu located in Westmount. The English quarter at 39 Somerville
Ave. Six potters showing.

There are other galleries and boutiques.

Have a good trip.

Dear travelling clayarter;

At the risk of being self-serving, visit the Babcock galleries at
724 Fifth Avenue for the opening of the "American Shino" show 4-6 pm on
Sept.8th. 45 potters, the Shino with 1000 faces.

Cheers, Hank
