Hi Lisa...

Are you truly serious about scrapping the whole project if it can't be done
before the Holidays? I completely understand your frustration with this
project getting launched, and maybe you're just trying to light a fire
underneath everyone's ass who hasn't followed through on their orders...
(which by the way, is fine by me...) but... I think it would be a terrible
shame to let this thing fall off the face of the earth into oblivion if it
can't be done by the Holidays. Just seems like so much effort has been put
forth already (most of it by you!) and I still think it is such a cool idea.
What is the possibility of these sponsors kicking in the funds to come up
with the remaining $$ to get it printed?

Just my 2 cents... for whatever it's worth.

Best regards,

Ken Nowicki

Ken,
No, I am not just trying to light a fire under any asses....take that
however you want. ;) Well, then again, yes I am. I would be willing to
finish the project no matter the time frame, except for the fact that I
suspect folks like you who have placed orders for multiple copies would have
to go back and change their orders if the book would not be available until
after the holidays. This is, as dear Martha would say, NOT a good thing.
It would lead to our having MUCH FEWER than 500 books ordered, so it would
be prolly this time next year before we could get 'em printed in the first
place. I agree w/ you that it's a good project, but is it really feasible
to carry it out that far in time?

Lisa, I would think that orders placed stand as ordered.
I have ordered pre publication books on several occasions
and had them delivered later than
originally anticipated. That's okay with me.
What's wrong with wrapping up a promise of a treat at a
later date if the book is on backorder?
People who have ordered with the holidays in mind could just
tie a ribbon around a wooden spoon
or whatever with a promise of a unique cookbook to follow.

Hi Lisa...

FYI... I am in total agreement with Pam here on this one. I see no need to
back out of my order, even if the publication date is postponed. I think
Pam's idea of the "wooden spoon" is an excellent one, in fact... I'd go get
one of those really nice one's from Williams-Sonoma or Crate & Barrel or
whatever... have the wife tie a really beautiful bow in it for me (she does
that so much better than I) ... and include a note with the gift. Count me
in for my full order... I won't back out on you. :-)

PS - I am still curious about these sponsors $$ they are pledging and if they
are able to help you in your situation with getting this thing published. Can
you give us an update on this and how it is/or isn't working?

I've gotten 800.00 from, sponsors so far. They are Axner,
Laguna, Sheffield, L&L, Ward Burner, Potter's Shop, Standard and
Euclid's. I'm continuing to send out emails. It's slow work,
and if anyone has any suggestions with email address included,
let me know. The sponsors are very generous considering this is
a sight unseen sort of situation...
I've emailed IMCO, Bluebird, Shimpo, Skutt, Paragon, Clay Times
and Highwater, Anyone with friends in these Co.'s please nudge them.
Thanks
Jennifer, planning to leaf thru CM during tea break for more "prey".....

Hello Lisa,

Ditto here. I don't think the people I'm sending it to believe in Santa
Claus anymore and will be disappointed if it's not under the tree in the
morning. I'll put a raincheck in the Xmas card.

Cheers,

ROFL. Still, if we want it by holidays, it must be in by EOM, so Sept 25 is

Lisa,

>> I suspect folks like you who have placed orders for multiple copies would have to go back and change their orders if the book would not be available until after the holidays. This is, as dear Martha would say, NOT a good thing. It would lead to our having MUCH FEWER than 500 books ordered, so it would be prolly this time next year before we could get 'em printed in the first
place. I agree w/ you that it's a good project, but is it really
feasible to carry it out that far in time? <<

I don't really care when the 3 books I ordered come. Before or after the
holidays doesn't matter to me. I'm not sure why ordered 3, seemed like a
good number. Maybe I need wallpaper.

Hell, I don't even cook!! Enzo handles that. How about "Clayart Washes
Dishes"? Pictures of pots and dish washing tips. ;-)
