Hello I have not seen much of an answer to the question about CMC so
went and dug out my old bag to see if the recipe was written down ... Yep
sure nuff ...

1-2 TBSPS of CMC to 1 gallon of warm water.

let this sit for 24 hrs or more and then strain thru a screen
till its
smooth.

Use approximately 1/3 cup of the above mix to 2/3 cup of water
.

I really dont know if there is a correct amount in anything and I pretty
much do it all by feel... the only thing I use it for is my slip trails as
it helps keep it flowing thru the bottles freely... if I dont use it I have
lots of trouble with the flow... how much do I use ??? I just mix it till I
get a nice sheen going it seems to work fine ... too little and it wont
flow .. This may be one of those things that you need to experiment for
your situation... I am not sure what the above recipe was used for maybe
glazes ??? I use it for mixing up the cmc but as far as diluting it to 2/3
cup of water I dont bother with that... Hope this helps some as I know
its far from definitive but its the best I can do with my experience.... CAT
