I would definitely use 2600 degree brick on the interior hot face (backed
up with 2000 degree brick on the cold face). You don't build a kiln often
enough to skimp on materials. Cone 10 is too near 2300 degrees to use 2300
degree brick. What happens if you overfire, by accident or by design?
