In response to query:
For my own studio, I just purchased a Skutt KS1027-3
plus a wall mount controller because I wanted the
back-up safety feature of the kiln sitter-timer, and
the convenience of the wall mounted controller where
it can be easily reached. Bennett's Pottery Supply was
great and the main reason I chose Skutt - very good
price and it was delivered when promised by courteous
shippers. Time will tell whether it holds up like my
old pal - a 1970 Paragon A99B that "keeps on ticking".
After using kiln controllers at school for a few
years, I am convinced that they are great tools for
electric kilns, but should always have back-up safety
shutoffs.
Happy firing,
Linda Mosley
