I happened to be on a stretch of I-90 in PA where the
Canadian radio stations come in more clearly than the
US ones, and was fortunate enough to catch the
broadcast of the memorial service held in Ottawa on
Friday Sept 14th. Since then I have been trying to
figure out how to thank the government and the people
of Canada, not only for the speech in which the Prime
Minister spoke of Canadians as the neighbors, friends,
and FAMILY of the US, but also...and especially..for
the lone piper who played "The Flowers of the Forest"
( a lament traditionally played for those who have
fallen in battle) near the end of the ceremony.
It finally let me cry.

Thank you,
Anj Campbell
