not necessarily to raise money

It was never my intent to raise money from an exhibition. I think
this is a good idea and a good cause but it was not my original
intention. Should it go that way, fine.

My two cents is this:

I think that tagging a fund raising campaign on to the exhibition would bog
down the process substantially, possibly causing it never to see fruition.

Nice idea, but a little heavy on the details - Who is going to collect and
distribute the funds? Who will do the bookkeeping and who will audit that?
Who benefits from the funds and who doesn't? Do the proceeds come from sale
of the pieces or from gate receipts at places to which the exhibit travels?
If the pieces are sold, the proceeds are very limited. If the proceeds come
from gate receipts, who is going to work with each gallery to work out a
contract for the collection of a percentage?

There have to be umpteen details that I haven't even thought of. I just see
the whole thing ballooning out of proportion and never happening by becoming
too ambitious. Let's keep it strictly simple and make it happen.

Bruce "KISS" Girrell
in fall-like northern Michigan, who thought that he would have nothing to
add to this sort of an exhibit (being a maker of tight, symmetrical pots)
yet who somehow ended up drawing a sculptural piece (I don't often draw and
I don't do sculptural pieces) tentatively named "Warrior's Crest". Where did
that come from?
