Regarding mica flotation, and this is typically true for other types of
chemical separation of minerals, the amount of reagent chemical used to
achieve this kind of separation is usually very, very small in proportion to
the minerals recovered.
As far as your search for which reagents are used, have you tried
contacting the technical staff at any of the minerals companies? In North
Carolina you are quite close to some of them.
