The issue of PMI that illustrates the use of hump molds for creating =
platters and then attaching great feet...... especially the carved =
ones..... is
the issue that I am presently wearing out ... Summer 2001. I've =
completed three of the molds now .... plaster...... can't wait to use =
them, which should be in another day or so.=20

Stephen Jepson also sells plastic forms for creating plate and platter =
molds. Molds made from his forms can be attached to the wheel so that =
feet may be thrown directly on the form. I think they're also listed in =
Axner's catalog. Stephen advertises in Ceramics Monthly etc, usually a =
full-page ad. I have one of his plate forms, made six molds of it way =
back when I first started....... then became interested in throwing and =
forgot about them. Thanks for the reminder. I'll pull them down from =
the top, top shelf tomorrow.

I know it's a worn out joke and sadder than it is funny, but sometimes =
such
guileless humor reflects a bit of human nature..... as in the throw-away =
line, "Don't know why He's so mad at me; I haven't done anything for Him =
lately........"........... Seems to me that the fall of the very =
visible Golden Ones, be they people, institutions or nations, is usually =
greeted with glee by those they've helped the most..... the most =
downtrodden. Fall, hell, just a small stumble will do ....... Did you =
ever read the poem about Richard Cory? I always figured he'd come to =
the aid of one too many whatevers, had become jaded and disappointed, =
which led to his self-destruction............ but I was still a mountain =
girl then .... saw things in pretty simple terms..... come to think of =
it, I still do.......=20
