Last year, the Carolina Artist Studio Gallery in
Morehead City, NC, had our first annual Clay Art Show
in November. We had a beautiful display of the
diverse and high quality clay work made in North
Carolina and had sales over $2500, with 60% going to
the artists involved. Many of the artists
participating last year joined the gallery. Those
artists are the core of our show this year. We are
looking for 10 other clay artists to display this
year.
I am preparing the website for the show at the present
time which will display the participants of last
year's and this year's shows and more information
about the gallery. The launch date for this site is
mid October. The gallery apologizes for the delay in
our website, but it was completely unavoidable.
Our gallery will be active with outside tent and
activities during the Seafood Festival in Morehead
City the first weekend in October, OCt. 6-7. Please
come and visit the gallery.
Each artist will:
show 5 pieces for the month of November
be advertised in the publicity and the cards
be pre-juried for membership in the gallery
be invited to meet the public during the Gallery Walk
to be held the 2cnd weekend in November
submit work for sale with 40% going to the gallery
The show will award prizes and ribbons for both the
functional and non-funtional categories.
All work must be orignal, new to the gallery,
completed within the last two years, and labeled as
either functional or non-functional.
Due to the limitations of space, the show will be
juried this year. There will be a ten dollar
non-refundable processing fee for the jurying. All
materials submitted will be returned.
Jury Deadline is October 10

(along with dimensions and designation
as functional or non-functional)
of work to be submitted for jury to:

Include a biographical statement or resume and a check
in the amount of $10 payable to CASG.
The juror will be a potter member of our co-operative
gallery. The judging for prizes awarded will be
seperate from the jurying process and will be based on
the actual work submitted, not from the slides.
