We have a small 20 cub gas kiln- over 600 bricks make up the hot face
(interior of the kiln 4 walls, roof and floor.
i figure if you dip a soft brick in a gallon of ITC 100 you could do
probably 10 but lets say 15.
A gallon of ITC 100 in canada costs $300 plus tax, plus shipping. for ease
of math let's keep it at $300. In the US it's $150?????
To dip my bricks 600 divided by 15 to a gallon = 40 gallons. does that mean
I need 40 gallons of ITC 100 x $300 = $12,000??????????????
Do you ever get the feeling that making pots is not the business to be in?
I say before you even think about whether it will work- do the math.
Spraying a thin coat on fiber or doing a reduction kiln- absolutely.
For a soft brick salt kiln- I'd think twice.
cheers,
