No, Fraser, I have a 5-year old Pacifica GT400 and though it squeaked a
little at first, it became silent as soon as I sprayed the belt lightly (on=
e
small squirt) with the provided silicone lubricant. I repeat the operation
about once a year. In fact I love my Pacifica so much that I have just had
it crated and shipped off to Spain at considerable expense. I couldn't liv=
e
without it, and life is not going to be easy for me now that marital
circumstances have obliged me to leave Canada. Maybe my Pacifica will keep
me sane.
Fran=E7oise
starting my long journey back to Almer=EDa tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!

I missed the thread here about Pacifica wheels. I bought a Pacifica wheel about 4
years ago and promptly traded it back in for a Brent CXC. I love the Brent and have
never had a problem. I got rid of the Pacifica because the belt(s) would start
making a squeaking noise that just about drove me up the wall. I was told to spray
a lubribant (lightly) on the belts once in a while. I did this but the belts
slipped and wouldn't engage the wheel until they had worn off some of the
lubricant. Problem was that once enough of the lub was worn off the noise would
start up again.
Quite possible it was a design problem specific to that year\model. The Pacifica
was about $600.00 less than the Brent, but in my case the added cost was worth it.
It seemed to me that more people liked the Pacifica than the Brent.

Did anyone else experience this problem?
