Dear Tony,=20
This sounds like a good idea <<<
How about glazing the bricks with my old 70's Oatmeal glaze
Whiting 300
dolomite 1050
talc 1050
felspar 2025
Nep syn 1275
EPK 1500
Flint 300
Zircopax 750>>>>
But I think it would be important to give it an initial firing well =
above the intended salt glazing temperature to ensure that all of the =
silica and felspar had been taken into solution. As I suggested in =
another posting on the topic, Potash felspar reacts strongly with NaCl =
and free Silica with Na2CO3. Interesting to see that you would have =
Zirconium in this glaze!!
I can understand that, put on the underside of shelving, there would be =
little response to salting. Gravity at work here.
All the best,
Ivor Lewis
