Dear Pete Pinnell=20

<refractory as a coating? It would certainly be non-reactive with soda, =
and perhaps the phosphate glass would act as a vapour>>

You certainly have an interesting proposition here and it might work if =
there is no reaction between Sodium Chloride or Sodium carbonate and the =
materials which contain Phosphorus. However, there are several =
phosphates formed with sodium and two of these can interact to give a =
eutectic at 552 deg Celsius.

My own thoughts are to look towards Zirconium loaded Mullite or =
Sillimanite plus kaolin as a material from which to construct the =
original bricks.
