Jocelyn,
Wednesday all day, and Saturday afternoon of NCECA there are no "official"
activities. But there are bus tours to galleries both of those days. You'd
be missing a huge dose of inspiration and excitement if you missed all of
that. Plan on being there for at least some of the bus tours. For the $5
fee, it's the best deal going, and a great way to meet new people. I've
become close friends with a number of folks I just happened to sit next to
on one of the buses.

Hello

I'm hoping someone can help give me some ideas that can help with my trip
planning for nceca. I've never gone and am tired of kicking myself, so
hopefully this will be the first trip.

- Are the first and last days listed for the conference "full
days"? Meaning, should I arrive the day before (the 12th), or is
nothing going on in the morning? Same for the last day, is it best to
stay for all of the 16th?

the web site answered my other questions, so I guess that's it.
Thanks

Hi, Jocelyn,
I have been going to NCECA since '71. Great learning experiences and
lots of soulmates.
Wed. before the main events start is usually buses to all the exhibitions.
Sat. ends early afternoon but if you are flying and need a Sat.
stayover, many people are still around by Sunday. The large business
meeting is around 10 or 11. The closing ceremonies are usually great
performances ending around 2. These vary somewhat year to year but that
is the general plan. I was a board member in 1990. The committees of
volunteers work very hard to provide an excellent program.

The last several NCECA's I've been to, some group has organized Saturday
tours to more remote sites. Each year I've had a great time, never had a
bad tour or one I thought wasn't worth the time/money yet.
