help - and i hope this is not a duplication of earlier email?

I think I asked for help before I was subscribed to this list, so I
don't know if my request for help was received. I apologize if this is
a duplication.

I accidentally programmed my Skutt (automatic controller) for a 15 hour
hold at Cone 5 top temp of 2165 degrees. I discovered my error after a
7 hour hold and turned the controller off.

I am assuming my entire load of 50 hand-brushed pieces will be lost, but
will I have done damage to the kiln shelves, controller, thermocouple,
elements as well?

Is there anything I can do to minimize damage now?

Thanks.

Karen

I replied to this privately but wanted to tell the list what I said, in
view of some of the other posts.

Shouldn't be too bad, depending on your glazes and your application, you
may get more running.

I gave another instructor permission to fire at the art center when I
was ill and he accidentally programed the 20 minute soak into 20 hours
and it went the full distance. All 20 hours. People were actually
excited about some of the glazes that had a chance to melt abit more.

You can expect a higher power bill.
