Dear William Moody,

Yes, you are correct. Should be no effect in an electric kiln.

Sodium chloride melts at 805 deg Celsius and boils at 1413 deg Celsius. =
Cone 018 equates to 717 deg Celsius. Cone 6 is rather on the low side =
for a salt glaze but glaze integrity would depend upon composition.

I never had any problem using Liquid Gold Lustre on salt glaze. In fact, =
the texture of the glaze adds considerable sparkle to the pieces, =
especially when contrasted with a blue undergalze slip. If you are using =
Arabian (smoked) lustre the glaze transition temperature (softening =
point) is lower than cone 018 for soda based glazes. Those lustre pastes =
doped with only silver tend to sink into the surface if a high =
temperature is used and give a dull yellow stain rather than the blue =
violet specular surface.

Have fun.
