Tony!!! You are CRAZY! I think you should go see about checking into Butts
and Nutts (and after that colon irrigation you could use both!!) Too funny!
I am going to have to stop laughing so I can get to bed! *lol*
By the way, I haven't received my CM yet, still waiting....sounds great
though.

there hasn't been much talk about Octobers CM. this one I like alot. It
has taken me longer to read. I have reread the "Going for Gold" several
times. (no pointing your finger at me, Becky). There is some serious
thoughts in that article, perfectly balanced by Bee Bop A Lou's article on
play. there is some great balance in this issue Capital A art, primitive
pots, glaze nerddom, play
A damn shame if a good potter like Jeff Oestreich decided to stop making
kitchen pots and went for the gold of corporate lobby art. the plight of the
kitchen ware potter is the "Going for Fools Gold.
makes me think that even these big Capital A hotshots have to love good pots
in their kitchen. I hope they at least afford a guy like Jeff Oestreich a
good living making kitchen pots. i have known for some time there is more
money to made in the living room than in the kitchen. I'll be damned if I
can get myself to be comfortable there.
for me to make a piece with a head of a canary wrapped in plastic sticking
out of a cast dog skeleton , on a piece of wire and naming it "Laika Model"
I'd have to eat magic mushrooms, washed down with lots of jack daniels,
fall down the stairs and land on my head and then ask for a colon irrigation
using Starbucks coffee and a dash of crack cocaine.
The JD is tempting but tommorrow, I'll just make teapots!
cheers,
tony

Did Jeff write an article to this effect? Last time I talked to Jeff
(admittedly, a few years ago), he was giving up his "gallery" pots and focusing
more on more functional work because there wasn't much money in the gallery
scene any more.
