When making molds from plasticine busts that I had made years ago, I've =
used a couple of techniques. One was to coat directly with the =
plaster, making a several piece mold then using "green soap" (which I got =
from my pharmacist) thinned down and coating several times into the mold =
and letting it dry before casting plaster into it. Nothing was used on =
the plasticine, and the orginal didn't stay intact really. The second =
method I was taught was to spray the plasticine with clear acrylic =
before using a latex mold compound to make the mold.

I was not casting in clay for either of these techniques-but I assume =
making a tile press mold wouldn't need a release agent any more than a =
small press mold would.
It does make me wonder if anyone uses alumina or other clay component =
for a release in their work.
If you are hesitant to cast the plasticine tile because of work put in, =
there is always more plasticine out there to try the cast on first.

By the way plasticine gets the most interesting patina after 18 years =
and many moves.
