As yet I have to receive Oct CM but I suspect if this is a quote from =
the article by Garth Clarke "...lumpy brown pots and their =
philosophy...." it may be a side reference to that period in the =
development of studio ceramics which followed the publication of The =
Potters Book by Bernard Leach, though how a pot can formulate a =
philosophy is beyond my ken.
Look forward to getting Sept CM. Referred back to Dec 1982 CM and found =
that article on knitting clay. Perhaps someone might care to comment on =
the presence of strong acetic acid in silicone compounds. Is this =
harmful either breathed or touched.

No, that was my comment, responding to another comment
about Garth Clark's actual article. That is pretty much
what I meant, though.
And no, pots may not formulate philosophy, but they
seem to be a hell of a catalyst! ;-)
