An interesting proposition. Perhaps you would tell us all about the =
rewards you are offering your freelance writers. I think we need to know =
about the rate per thousand, per monochrome image, per coloured image =
and your attitude towards copyright. As you will be well aware, =
Freelance writing is a profession and its practitioners deserve adequate =
expenses and recompense for their contributions.

I an sure those of us who might be willing to support you in this new =
venture will be interested in your editorial rules.

Thank you for your interest and inquiry about writing for Fine Art Ceramics.
The magazine's premier issue will January 2002 and will be mailed monthly to
10,000+ ceramic artists throughout the U.S. You asked about payment
policies, photographs and copyright.
Following publication our rates are 7cents per printed word, $5 per
black/white photograph published, and $13 per image published in full color.
The average manuscript ranges from 1000 to 3000 words. Copyright (a) The
magazine will own all rights, title, interest and copyright in and to the
materials for the full term of copyright, including all renewals and
extensions. (b) You as the author of the article may use or sell same, as
you choose without consent of the magazine, with the disclaimer
acknowledging article was first published in Fine Art Ceramics listing date
of publication.

It's interesting that when I asked a couple questions after their initial
posting I have not heard back. I have seen a couple of other posts and
again have not seen a response from the magazine.

I guess they haven't got their act together yet.
