carbon monoxide - garage kiln?

Hi

All these posts on carbon monoxide made me wonder if my Skutt 1018
electric kiln is safe in my garage?
I post the lid 2-1/2" until the temp. reaches 1000 degrees, then close
the lid.

I usually fire overnight and leave the garage door open from the bottom
about 12 to 18".

Do I need to do something different?

If I do what you do, my whole garage stinks, even during bisque. If your garage is
attached I would be worried about general fumes as much as carbon monoxide. I
would put a vent on the kiln and vent it out the door. Side benefit is the kiln
fires better, more even with no color mixing, etc.
