Hi,
I purchased an AIC Oxyprobe from Nils and after 80 firings it has given =
up the ghost. It is a tool that I respect and handle with the utmost =
care. I had a protective tube installed per Nils' suggestion for =
longer life??? The pyrometer portion works like a charm but I get very =
erratic and meaningless oxy readings. I'm not sure I understand how the =
pyrometer can work and the oxy portion not.
In performing the "Test" and reversing the yellow and green plugs, I =
get a reading of -1- which indicates a broken thermocouple wire. How =
much does this job cost and is it worth repairing? What else is apt to =
go wrong after it is repaired? Anyone have any similar experiences =
and/or =20
suggestions? Nils, are you there? And are you still handling these =
things?=20
I need to do one more firing before packing up this kiln and moving it =
to Florida. I guess it will be done the old fashioned way; nose, =
eyes, and of course dancing around the kiln gods performing virginal =
sacrifices. Hopefully I'll remember how to do all of that.
Sincerely,
Ingeborg
