Hi

Elizabeth, they are countless methods of getting from
point 'A' to point 'B' without using GB. I would be
happy to look at helping you do a couple of subs using
frits. Also MATRIX software is produced in New Zealad
and you can look the site up on the net by typing in
Matrix. The owner of this company or developer is a
nice man and may even have better suggestions since he
lives in your area and knows the material there better
than I would. Whatever way I can be of help, let me
know? The gentlemans name is Lawrence Ewing... I think
he still monitors this group from time to time. Hey
lawrence you out there??? You may also contact him
through the web info I supplied.

Elizabeth, I read somewhere that colemanite has
to be calcined before it is used. It won't spit then
and you could have better results. Ralph in Cape
Town.

Hi!
I wrote it once
but it did not help colemanite is one of the two materials I dumped
since I learned and knew what I was doing. The other material, was a
"colemanite frit" supplied by my supplier that worked neither in raku
nor in ^6 ox. Manufactured in Europe.
..And I am a person who picks from the floor any small pieces of clay
and recycle it!
Yet, Most of the recipes, call for up to 20% G.B. can be replaced by a
frit.
If you are totally in pain, add Boric acid.
To it you can add some % of tsp to avoid, or try to avoid
crystallization.
Boric acid is an unpleasant material, like borax. For raku,You will
reformulate.
You spent some $ on this computer, add some more and buy a software.
Belive me it is possible to learn.
I stopped high school because of math and chemistry and I manage.
