Dear Paz,

Carbon Monoxide is colourless, odourless, tasteless and highly toxic.

You cannot see it, you cannot taste it, you cannot scent it. It will =
kill you in high concentrations and make you very ill in small doses.

The smell associated with an electric firing which only involves clay =
may be due to the organic material in the clay burning. If you are =
firing glazed pottery and have used wax as a decorative or protective =
resist, this will smell as it melts and then burns.

Regards,

Ivor Lewis.
