I just want say for the record that I'm just joking around when I appear
to be contemptuous of any individuals and or their theories and or
practices ,I love the ceramic arts and sciences with all my heart and
respect all the other people involved especially the senior members of
the feild many of whom have proven through decades of dedication their
love and respect for our craft and our people .I realize that alot of
unconitional love has gone into all of these efforts by individuals and
groups (many of which I wouldnt have found without this list)that are so
encouraging ,supportive and promotive to all the clay people of the past
present and future .I bring up the competetive aspects of throwing and
firing because thats what grabbed 'my' attention,'extreme sensationalism'
the 'very lightest pots' the 'very fastest firing',the progressive
aspects, the pushing of the envelope , and I think thats what the new
breed of kids is inclined to pay attention to, instant
excitement, something to make you say "wow" at the same time I'm acting
somewhat of a fool just to make sure that people understand that we're
just regular people and its not hard to get in and get started if this is
what you want to work at ,some will dabble and casually support the craft
some will find a refuge in the beauty and peace associated with us and
some will go right up to the front and become the vangaurd of
thermodynamic engineering and may even change the course of human history
with the application of the theories developed in
our midst......enough mush ...........back to ..............
