Gayle, generally the presenter works for a fee agreed upon
in advance by the sponsor(s) or organization. So much per
day or for the workshop; plus expenses (travel, lodging, food).
Whatever is left belongs to the sponsors, not the presenter.
Some places use such workshops as fund-raisers, but not as
often as one might think. It is hard to know in advance how
many will attend any given workshop, and quite often the
fees to attend are low - just covers expenses, in many cases.

Interesting... verrry interesting... so a corrupt politician can command
$100,000 to give a dinner speech but a selfless, intelligent, teacher,
mentor, sage gets a small flat fee...... hmmmmm!
Yeah.. I know who said life is fair!
