I'm not much of a tester of anything, but this might interest you sniffers
of the white powder.
Craig Martell sicked John Glick on me last year. he was having carbon trap
problems. We chatted and he gave me two blue glazes to try. I was desperate
for money. both glazes had zinc oxide in them. He said it was very
important and made a huge difference if the zinc was ball milled. He ball
milled his zinc wet and then added it into the glaze batch.
glick has some pretty impressive glaze surfaces. Whether they are stable,
whether zinc means a tinkers damn, I dunno. they just look very nice indeed.
Did some pots and Chris Campbell and her brother Chuck the wine snob came
along and laughed at my hoares blue. Some call it mother in law blue, some
cash flow blue, but they dubbed mine hoares blue.
Thinkin' about Chuck today. He's in for a quad. A fine bottle of Pinot Noir
waits for his recovery.
cheers,
Tony
