Hey! why not just use a "very dull pencil". ;-)

I know you.You can probably make a REALLY great home-made dull pencil,
probably better than anything you can find in a store. ;-)

I bet David can make an even better one and get the materials free from
the junk yard.

Dear Russel,

I laughed so hard when I read this I almost spit coffee on the keyboard and
wee'd in my jammies at the same time! What a great sense of humor . . .
right, Vince?

Gotta go find a dull pencil (or sharpen/sand a dowel) now -

Mary in TN (p.s. Every time I see a post from you, Russel, I think of the
cookbook "Everyone Eats Well in Belgium." Is it true? If so, sounds like my
kind of place!)

Did I see my name mentioned?
In fact, I do use a 'free' tool to sign my name on pots: the 'other'
end of my needle tool.

Why have another tool hanging around to misplace, when all you
need to do is sharpen the handle end of your needle tool in
a pencil sharpener?

When the "other" end of my needle too is surgical stainless steel ;-)

Speaking of that, is the Picky Potter's Probe (I think, that's what it
was called) still available? I use the handbuilder's model.
